I was on my way to visit Yellowstone and stopped at Jakers to have dinner. I loved the food. I ordered the ribeye steak and it was absolutely delicious. The server, Lindsey, was friendly but yet very professional and she was so pleasant to speak with. Jakers was an awesome experience and I will definitely come back in the future when I visit Idaho Falls again.

Just awesome. Stopped in on our way to Yellowstone. Kids had kids steaks which were prime sirloin cooked perfectly. I had the Kobe sirloin house special, wife had the prime rib. Both steaks were of high quality and done just how we asked. My Kobe was reverse seared and had tons of flavor. The waitress (Celeste) was on the ball with the drinks and very professional. We are already talking about hitting this place up for lunch on our way back from Yellowstone.

My husband and are from a suburb of Minneapolis, MN, so we've ate at a few places. I also travel for business so I have dined out in several cities including Seattle, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, etc. Anyway, I can honestly say that I would give this restaurant a "5" because the food is EXCELLENT - especially when you find it in a town the size of Idaho Falls. My husband and I were staying in Idaho Falls for a couple of days while traveling on vacation so we actually ate dinner at Jaker's both of those days. Some of the noteworthy items to say about this restaurant: 1. They have a very diverse menu which covers everything from steaks to seafood, pasta, sandwiches, salads, etc. My husband liked the crab salad avocado salad so much that he ordered it both days. I had the Kobe beef and a cap steak which was to die for! Both were tender, juicy and perfectly seasoned. Excellent! My husband also ordered their homemade onion rings which were by far the biggest and best onion rings I have ever tasted. The homemade batter Jaker's uses for the rings is wonderful/excellent. Super tasty. My only comment is that I think they are a little on the large side and would recommend making the rings a little smaller and more manageable to eat. 2. Jaker's has this house recipe of homemade "scones" which I would describe as warm (hot from the oven); light, fluffy, yeasty buns served with honey butter. Addictive!!! 3. Friendly, helpful and professional wait staff. The service was excellent. 4. The price of the food in comparison to the quality is very good/fair. From what I understand, Jaker's is a small chain with a few locations in Idaho and Montana. Quite honestly, this restaurant would give a lot of Minneapolis restaurants a run for the money (and market share) if they ever opened a restaurant here. I highly recommend it.

Good fries but the food was so-so for someone like me who doesn't eat like slabs of steak. They do give you mounds of food. At least 2 of me could have had the thai noodle salad I ordered. Don't order the thai noodle salad folks. The noodles were super bland and almost tasteless. The steak slices were tasty though.

Love the place with its beer flight and its giant onion ring, or i should rather call it half onion! And their appetizer bread is very yummy with butter on it. Can't stop eating them! And the ribs and steak are all cooked very tasty. And they helped us to put table together and served like 10 ppl. And price is reasonable. Definitely would stop by again if i pass the town again.

We went to Jakers for our first anniversary. Our server was Trisha and she was really kind and attentive. Our drinks were never empty and she checked on us a lot, which we really appreciated. I had the prime rib French dip. I will have dreams about this sandwich-the meat was so tender and it was absolutely perfect. For dessert I had the creme brûlée which was amazing as well. It was creamy with the perfect crisp top. Oh and I had the lemonade-yum! I really love homemade lemonade so I am leery to order because most restaurants serve it from the fountain which is pretty much sugar water. Not at Jakers-it was definitely fresh and so good. If we weren't moving out of state in a week we'd be back. I highly recommend Jakers!

This place is great! The service is top notch and the food is delicious! I really love their steak! They cook it and season it just right! All of the seafood that I have had at Jaker's is also great! Whenever we want a nice meal we can count on Jaker's!

Came in to this restaurant on a fluke... Menu was varied, unique, and exceptionally well crafted.... You can tell there is a dedication to service as well as each menu item... Lindsey told us that most of the kitchen staff has been there for years and it shows... I eat in roughly 300 restaurants a year and this is easily in the top 5% of restaurants I've eaten in. It's a little off the beaten path, but we'll worth the find... The atmosphere is upscale but not pretentious... If I could give 10 stars I would

Very warm atmosphere, subdued lighting but light enough to be comfortable. Not excessively noisy in spite of being very busy; easy to visit at our table. Amiable hostess and waitress, but not disruptive. I ordered the prime rib, medium to medium rare, 8 oz.; it was excellent; very warm throughout and very tender and juicy. The horseradish dip was a wonderful companion: Creamy, not too strong! Several ordered the pork ribs. Each was enough meat for two. They were very good, especially with the accompanying sauce, S enjoyable as any I've had. I enjoyed these much more than "Dickeys" and more than those I've had at "Famous Daves." The dies were also relatively large servings and very enjoyable.

I ordered the petite filet and garlic mash potatoes, it was divine! This is my 2nd time here and it continues to deliver. Next time in town I will come back again. Great service, nice modern & clean. Extensive list of drinks & wine available. I highly recommend if you love steak.

Went to Jaker's one night for dinner during a business trip and left full, but disappointed. Had higher hopes based off of previous Yelp reviews and left with a bad taste in my mouth. Ordered the Kobe Steak for dinner, medium rare, and came out close to well done. Few pieces I did eat were low quality and did not really get me very excited. Waitress was attentive and offered to fix the mistake. The cooks remade the steak (and even the sides) and did a better job the second go round. The flavors however still were not all that exciting. I'd say the customer service and attentiveness of the waitress definitely did help my feelings on this place. However, at the end of the day you are visiting a place to eat expecting good food, and did not feel like that's what I had when I went there. Jaker's is worth a visit just based off of what else is available in the area. I'd especially say doubly so if you try to avoid the multitude of large chain restaurants in the area (Red Robin, Texas Roadhouse etc). But not a must-visit place every trip in my view.

I really cannot think of a worse location for a restaurant. Maybe next to the sketchy General Mills plant down the street? You wind throughout a decent area filled with hotels and once you start hitting some more industrial type of business there is Jaker's. The outside was very meh, I wasn't expecting much from the inside. It was dark, lots of dark wood, and carpeting that I would call bowling alley or movie theater carpeting, just a tacky sort of generic patterned stuff. I was excited when snooping around online that they had Gluten Free and Vegetarian menus, but perhaps you have to request those? I then realized there were several locations so by chance maybe this one did not cater to those needs. I started with a Bloody Mary (my new obsession, don't ask) and it was disappointing. I had to reiterate several times that it could not be garnished with a jumbo shrimp because of an allergy to shellfish. The mix was bland, it was lacking spice, and it seemed to have too much worscetershire sauce in it. The vodka had a terribly cheap taste to it as well. I was then brought "scones" which were really like unsweetened donuts. They were fried. Not my cup of tea. For an entree I decided against the "Irish" buffet for St Patricks day (hey, I'm Italian...and a bit skeeved by buffets at times) and got the meatloaf. I have determined that if I'm eating meat, its either BBQ or Meatloaf from here on out. The meatloaf was literally just meat. Supposedly it was made with italian sausage but I didn't find any fennel or other sausage like flavors. The mashed potatoes were awesome and had huge cloves of roasted garlic throughout them. The asparagus was just plain old asparagus but it hit the spot. I could see this being a good choice for those who want a local chain with meat and potatoes and hearty home cooked style meals.

Wonderful stop. Looking for an easy stop on our way south. All the recommendations were right on. Great service, and the salad bar very fresh w good soup selection. Thanks.

The food here is good. Nothing really healthy for you so we picked the lesser of 2 evils. We ordered the almond encrusted chicken which was good but fried. I ordered the salad bar and soup. I ordered 4 lobster bisque! It was pretty good. The rolls they gave us were good along with the sweet butter. Our waitress was very nice as well. Overall experience we were happy but the price is a bit much.

  • Pete M.

Over rated. Ate here Mothers Day weekend. Had reservation & had to eat at a high table in the bar. Not relaxing and felt like we were getting the rush to get out to make room for the next one. Seafood Buffet was available but waitress didn't even mention it. Also sick and tired of being asked about dessert when we're still in the middle of the main course. Food was good but a totally not relaxing dinner for the relatively high price. And oh yeah, the salad has gone the route of Charlie Cheaps**t - better house salad at Perkins. Better margaritas everywhere else, too. Save your money and eat someplace else.

What a treat this place was! I was lured by a coupon and decided to try it out. So happy I did. From the beginning to the end, I felt welcomed. Although I arrived an hour before they closed, it didn't feel that anyone was unhappy about my arrival on a quiet weeknight. I ended up having the charbroiled Idaho trout and although I am very picky about fish, it was not only fresh, it was perfectly cooked. They also have both an early and late "Happy Hour", which is a nice plus too. Can't wait to return!

I generally try to stay away from chain restaurants, but this one is pretty good. We came here a little worse for the wear after a long day at Yellowstone, but our dusty little selves were still sent away full and happy. The happy hour is great - a few bucks off of drinks and half priced appetizers. The servers are friendly and remembered my parents (dude, how often do you go there guys?) and even looked at pictures from the trip we took that day. The food was good - better than average pub fare. I got french onion soup and the broth was a little too thick, but nothing to stop me from eating it all. Martinis are a little pricey, I would stick with beer or wine for happy hour.

  • Sabrina J.

A very accommodating and nice staff. The Bartender Eva is a sweet heart. For dinner... The rolls they give for dinner are unlike anything I've ever had, just dough with a light brush if butter - wow. The ribeye (medium) was super juicy! Delish! Also, major hats off to them for changing one of the screens to our game. 4 screens total for your NFL viewing pleasure. The shrimp wontons are seriously good & HUGE, they could have been an entree or shared between 4 people. The Lobster bisque was good, a bit buttery and really creamy but the many chunks of lobster "made it" or saved it.

  • Jeffrey F.

Great food and the service was awesome as well. Only complaints is that they serve Pepsi (why oh why does anyone serve watered down soda anymore I don't know). The steak is wonderful as well as their rolls. The rolls are AWESOME!

July 13, 2013 Saturday - dinner 7:15 PM 2 adults & a kid Atmosphere - 5 stars Food - 5 stars Service - 5 stars Background - We are on our way home one a long drive from Minot ND to Reno NV, and spending the night across the street. Atmosphere - A lot nicer than I expected from a place that says Bar and Grill on their sign. I actually felt a little undressed with shorts and a tee shirt on. But you start looking around it was a mix of that to business casual. Food Appetizer - Free rolls. Gotta love that! Drinks - I had a Jaker's Amber ale, it is good. They do not brew this on location, they have a few more restaurants across the state and it came from one of those locations. My Main Course - I order the Smart plate which a smaller version of the regular meal and I am glad I did as it had plenty of food on it for me. I had the boneless short ribs. If is boneless how can you call it ribs as there are none. Nice and tender. I would order this meal again. Maybe a different side as it comes with mashed potatoes, the sweet potato fries was over kill. Is okay to order sweet potatoes in Idaho, or do they grow theses here too? Dessert - Stuffed. Service - Greeted warmly at the door and was a very pleasant experience after a long day in the car. Future - I would like to say yes but I don't know when we will be back in town.

One of the best steaks we have ever had. My bride and I came in about 30 before closing on a Friday night for supper. The place was still packed, but service was exceptional and everything we ordered was hot, delicious, exactly as ordered and served with a smile. Definitely going back!

  • Kipp G.

Ask for Taylor. That young man is a professional server. He didn't lead me astray when recommending the Cap Steak. One of the best I've had. It was all encompassed in a great atmosphere.

    (4)
  • Huixiao K.

The service is nice. But the steak is terrible! It has too much oil which makes me almost throw up. The bread and crab cake is also greasy.

  • Joe J.

Decent food, a nice menu that gets regular updates and specials, and a well-stocked bar. The other evening while on business in town I had their seared Ahi Tuna. While not the most fresh tuna around, it was decent enough with a good flavor. Reasonably priced and a comfortable lounge, I'd go back without question.

  • Mitchall B.

Was very delightful! Atmosphere was perfect for a mild mannered birthday dinner, I was taken back at price of steak but at places like that I get the burger. It was GREAT good price, great taste, and brought out perfectly to order.

  • Jerry J.

Good attention to details! Not your "run-of-the-mill" restaurant with some unique entrées. Good selection of draft beers and wine. Tasty coleslaw with the fish n' chips! Highly recommended for this neck of the woods ;-).

  • Mike W.

This steak house was very tasty. I highly recommend trying the prime rib. It was cooked exactly to my liking and the staff were extremely helpful. Be careful not to eat to much free bread, it's delicious and addictive. The only downside is the hit to your wallet, but if you're expensing the meal, go all out.

Food 4 stars Server 3 Stars Wait time for food 1 star I've been to Jakers a couple of times in the past and it's been hit or miss with the food. Tonight the food was excellent. We started off with the dragon tails (I think that was the name). They were breaded chicken strips dipped in their bbq sauce-like... sauce. They were tasty. The main course was really good, I ordered the Kobe beef steak cooked medium, although it wasn't even close to the best steak I've ever had, it was the best steak I've ever had in Idaho Falls. Their Mac n Cheese was excellent, the pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was extremely creamy and flavorful. My biggest problem with this place is the wait time on the food, we were there about an hour before closing and there weren't very many customers in the restaurant. We still had to wait about 40 minutes for our food to arrive. Overall I'd definitely go again, maybe I'll try a different time of day and see if the service is faster.

    (3)
  • Sue G.

We ate here as it was close to our hotel. It is BUSY!!! We were told the wait would be a couple of minutes; that turned into 20 minutes, but . .were seated in a nice booth in the bar area. We typically don't like to sit in the bar area, but . . . this did work out OK. Our server, Sarah, was excellent! She was helpful with the menu, was very attentive - making sure we were enjoying our meal and refilling our coffee and water. Servings were very nice sized; we had left overs. It seems that both tourists and regulars eat here. Lots of multi-generational families were dining here the night we were here.

This place was absolutely amazing. Came to Idaho Falls from Los Angeles to do some sightseeing and visit some national parks. My partner and I were looking for some good places to eat in Idaho Falls. We took a chance on this place and had no regrets. We got the salmon, tri tip sandwich, and chicken nachos (as an appetizer). Everything was absolutely delicious!! I was so impressed. It was better than what I expected. I really wish they had a Jakers in Los Angeles. I would give them 6 stars if I could.

  • G L.

Excellent food and service. The steak was cooked perfectly, and the service was great. I really enjoyed my meal here. During my week, in Idaho Falls, I was fortunate to eat in several excellent restaurants, with Jakers being one of them. Very impressed!

I'm actually very upset with the service. i ordered some food to be delivered to my hotel room, i was put on hold for 10 minutes to take my order, i was told "Approximately 20-25 min" it would be done, an hour later i'm still waiting. i call to see whats going on, and get put on hold for another 15t minutes, only to be told it'll be done in another 20 minutes. all in all, i've waited 1 hour and 35 minutes. i'm not impressed with this being my first time experiencing Jakers.

  • Keeli K.

Such a wonderful place!! We went because it was my birthday and they give you 1/2 off dinner and dessert. Well, right before ordering we realized that I forgot my wallet at home and had no ID on me. I tell the waitress and she says she can see if we can pay full price today and come back tomorrow with ID for refund. We place an order regardless because we drove all the way out there for a restaurant that came well recommended. She came back and said they don't do that anymore, but that her manager was going to go ahead and give me the discount anyway. What great service! I wasn't expecting it at all and it was so nice of them!! On top of that the food was delicious. We had the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer and they came out very quickly and were warm and flavorful. I had the clam chowder, steak with garlic shrimp, and onion rings. Hubby had caesar salad with seafood pasta. The salad and soup came out quickly and we had just finished those when our entrees came out. I want to put the garlic sauce from the steak on EVERYTHING it was that good! I ordered medium rare and it was definitely on the rarer side, but I don't mind that at all. I like my meat closer to rare than medium so it was actually a bonus. His pasta was great too. You can clearly see the different kinds of seafood in the pasta and they didn't skimp on the fish at all. I would say there was more seafood than pasta. The service was great, our waitress was exceptional, and we would definitely go back again! Thanks, Jaker's!!

One of the best rib eyes I have ever had. Everything here was great, steak, salad and especially the service. One of the friendliest waitresses ever . 5 stars hands down

    (5)
  • Steve L.

I typically don't write Yelp reviews, but as a road warrior I must commend this place as being extremely exceptional. The service, the local drafts and one of the better filets I've ever had at a fraction of the cost of some of the biggest steakhouses in the country. Absolutely impressive, I will return every night that I'm in town this week.

    (5)
  • Rebekah P.

We went here on a recommendation from a server from another restaurant. She was spot on. I had the best rib eye steak I've ever had. The seasonal vegetables were lightly sautéed with a dash of fresh parmigian cheese and fresh basil. My boyfriend had the kobe London broil with mashed potatoes. He had a cup of the lobster bisque and said it was perfect. If we are in the area again we will definitely return. Well worth the money.

    (5)
  • Micaela M.

Very friendly, welcoming right as you enter the door. Waitress was super friendly and patient because I couldn't decide between entrees. The salad bar is fantastic, but sad that soup is not on salad bar in evenings. Dining area clean. Bathrooms were okay, they could use some detail cleaning, but that is to blame my OCD. Overall, a wonderful place to dine in.

Great food, lunch and dinner. I've always had great service as well. They have a really good buffet style lunch.

Had an early dinner here. The lobster bisque was very good and the scones (not rolls) were very tasty. My sirloin was prepared perfectly and my wife's seared scallops were excellent. Show your key card from the Hampton Inn and get a 10% discount.

Great place! Great service, amazing steaks, nice beer flight. We were disappointed in the town but had a great evening thanks to this place. If you're staying a night in this town head over to Jakers!

My co-worker and I stopped in here on a Wednesday evening around 7 and there was about a 20 minute wait. We went over to get a drink at the bar and realized that we could sit in a booth in the bar area without waiting. I forget our server's name but she was very friendly and had some wonderful recommendations. We both had the filet and it was cooked perfectly. The rolls and lobster bisque were also awesome!!!

  • Hannibal S.

Came her for a dinner with my wife. I had the ribeye she had some salmon. Both tasted awesome. The place is just a franchise, so type of food as the Jakers in Boise. Great stuff but $$$ for a nice meal and a glass of wine.

  • W F.

Long flight, get to town and car rental guy recommends Jakers for a steak. I didn't know it was a chain restaurant until a couple of days later. No big deal because it didn't have a chain feel to it...felt very locally/family owned. Ate in the bar at a booth with colleague from the office. Enjoyed a good mushroom burger and salad. The restaurant was not too fancy...i.e. nothing remarkable. Just good food and good service. Enjoyed a local blonde beer (can't remember the name) but it was good. A tad expensive as compared to other local fare.

I ordered NY strip Steak and it is yummy. The onion ring is huge. Service is good. Price is reasonable. Can't have any complains

    (5)
  • Denni P.

Fantastic steak house, I'm a fan, yup. They had the best onion rings I've ever tried. The service was fantastic, our server was uber nice and friendly to the point where you were not sure it was for real, but it was. I find the salads in this part of the US a bit 'canned' meaning not the freshest around, but I don't expect to be eating a salad at a steak house. I'd go back!

    (4)
  • Steve D.

Steve D. Great baked potatoes, but what would you expect coming from Idaho. I only wish I could say the same for the ribeye steak I had ordered. I initially order the steak with sautéed mushrooms & onions when I received my dinner I could not even see the steak (very poor presentation) it had so many onions and some mushrooms, but they weren't sautéed like most restaurants serve they were barely cooked so I had them removed. The ribeye I thought lacked flavor maybe with the right seasonings would have made all the difference. Overall I think the restaurant serves very good food (I didn't get the right cow that night) they just need to work on their presentation a bit.

  • Christine W.

We got here as the last 2 of a party of 12. We were totally ignored for drink orders until we ordered dinner - approximately 10-15 mins waiting - and I had to remind the waitress that she never took our drink order. My sister ordered a soda that was flat & the syrup mix was off, so that went back, Then we ordered salads for our entrees. It took 10 mins to chase down someone to give us our dressing - by which time the table was half done with dinner so our next request was for boxes. Oblivious staff throughout the restaurant. Won't choose this place again.

    (1)
  • Claire H.

Surprisingly great food. Honey butter on hot rolls, meat from happy cows, what more could you ask for? Our waitress Christina from Bulgaria provided excellent service. Easy access off 20. Outback Steakhouse is down the street, please bypass that and head to Jakers! Excellent selection of draft beers as well.

    (5)
  • Dana B.

Absolutely wonderful steakhouse. The staff was friendly and very nice. I Had the eye of rib steak with crab and bernaise sauce. Totally yummy. The fremch onion and the clam chowder soups were delicious. Hubby had southern fried chicken it wasn't really fried it was baked but had a nice breading on it. Save room for chocolate silk pie ans get extra forks to share

  • Kassiah W.

I've heard raves about this place, but I used to go here a lot with an old boyfriend. Steak is always either over-cooked or under-cooked, service is slow, even on slow nights; their "Mardi Gra" buffet was absolutely awful. The etouffee was mushy, the shrimp was over-cooked, and it had no flavor. Every time I've been I've been seriously disappointed, and I think it's a joke that they were rated #1 restaurant in Idaho Falls, seriously guys? I'd like to know where this vote took place, so that my friends and I could tip the scales to someplace more worthy of this title. Food presentation is messy, everything that has any flavor is either too salty or too greasy. The dining area is a dungeon, it's far too dark. The chairs are uncomfortable, and the tables are crammed together with barely any room for walking. Whenever anyone asks me where they should go for food, I ALWAYS steer them away from this place, the whole place is depressing.

  • Judy H.

What a great restaurant! We felt like having steak for dinner, so Yelped restaurants close to our hotel - Comfort Inn. We went to Jakers based on the reviews on Yelp. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. The rolls were fresh-baked and delicious. I had Lobster bisque soup and my husband had Clam Chowder to start, then we both ordered the Kobe beef steak. Everything was delicious, and well priced. We highly recommend this restaurant.

    (5)
  • J S.

Eh. Lots of choice on the menu, clearly a popular place, and the onion rings as a side were great. Halibut was on the fishy tasting side (not so fresh), steak was ok, salad bar again had lots of choices but I had to ask for several items to be refreshed. Maybe we just hit an off night. Server was great - checked on us regularly. We were unhappy to discover (when we got the bill) that the lobster bisque was an extra dollar per person; once the server gently pointed out that it says this on the menu we were willing to pay but she got it waived anyway. Made up for the surly young men at an adjacent table!

  • Travis P.

Went with some friends. The service was just fine. The food portions were a bit meager, though, my steak was super yummy, my baked potato was gross. And my wife's and my friends dinner were quite gross. For the price, it's really not worth it and quite over rated. Especially when it has been voted "the best restaurant in idaho falls"

    (2)
  • Justin T.

The crab and spinach dip was horrendous and expensive. It cost $11 dollars and had the consistency of soup. The scones were under cooked, the drinks were watery, and our meals were served at the same time as our appetizer. The main courses consisted of average pasta and poor quality seafood. I won't be back.

    (1)
  • Dean Z.

Would get one star except for the excellent seared ahi tuna appetizer. Mahi tacos were tasteless, chicken fried steak the same. Overrated.

We were visiting from California and our friends took us here for dinner. My 5oz sirloin was on a par with Ruth's Chris! Cooked just right and very tender.

We are here a couple of hours before flying home. The service is excellent. Location is close to the Green Belt. The Onion Soup is not bad, the boneless brisket is tender and juicy. The sangria is one that you cannot missed. Did I mentioned that service is excellent?

In town for a night. The girl at the garden inn recommended jakers as a good restaurant with a bar to eat at. It was close I decided to try it out. The food was fantastic. Everything from the scones and butter they give you to the caesar salad and the Cajun bacon wrapped sirloin. Everything was perfect. If I'm ever in Idaho falls again I will definitely be back.

I treated myself to a nice dinner... and I wasn't disappointed at all. As always.... started with a dry vodka martini with three olives. I ordered the Filet with crab and asparagus added to it. It was 'delish'. The only complaint was the steak was cooked medium instead of Med-rare. When I brought that up to the waitress she said, "That's because its served on a searing hot plate. Next time slide it off of the little plate." This made me feel like it was MY fault the steak was overcooked! Survey says...... "ERRNNT!" Wrong answer! Overall experience was great. Service in Idaho is a bit more 'real' than other states..... They tell you how it is as compared to groveling over people that complain. I can appreciate that.... It's like being treated like family!!

We love their lunch time salad bar. One of our favorite items on it is the lobster bisque. Really yummy! The grilled cheese sandwich that I had was also really yummy! I haven't tried the steak, but the salad bar and sandwiches are great.

Hotel recommened this place. Glad I took their advice. Just a short trip down the road from the HGI. A little old school with dark wood paneling, green carpets, and such. Its nice, kind of a throw back to old times. Food is very good. I really like the idea of their "Smart Menu". Smaller portions and some of their entree's. You dont see this too often, and Im glad a restauarant is doing this. Have been there twice now in my two weak jaunt here in IDFL. First time I had the Cedar Plank salmon, it was sooo good. Makes me wonder what they do different because my cedar plank salmon doesnt come out half this flavorful. Second time I went I had the lobster alfredo. Huge plate of pasta, and they didnt skimp on the lobster either. ALthough, I dont think it was entirely lobster, it looked like some king crab was thrown in as well. My only complaint was that the pasta was almost too done, almost mushy but not quite there yet. Definately would visit it again.

This place is cool, and probably is one of the more classy places in the area...from what I can tell at least; excluding the patron at the table next to mine with a Yosemite Sam mustache, cowboy hat, and "Don't Tread on Me" t shirt. I was honestly so stuffed from completing the Big Jud's one pound challenge I just got the mandarin chicken salad, which absolutely ROCKED! The waiter was awesome, only thing was strange was the buffet. Kinda downed the class a bit. But this place was awesome fro real. Given I don't know the area well, for Idaho Falls this seems like the place to go if you don't want Arctic Circle.

Not every restaurant needs to knock your socks off. Always appreciate a restaurant that clearly defines its character and delivers accordingly - do what you do and do it well, My dinner companion had pan fried halibut. It seemed moist and was served with a hollandaise sauce. I had a simple broiled salmon and asparagus. I prefer my salmon slightly less done but it was fine. We ate in the bar section so I won't complain about the TV. Service was friendly and prompt. I didn't see the final bill but, menu prices seemed within expectation.

Went here with a large party. The exterior of the building doesn't look like a restaurant, especially not at night, but we didn't have trouble finding it. I got the Fresh Clear Spring's Idaho Trout. How can you go to Idaho without trying the trout, right? I got it charbroiled with the lemon butter caper sauce. It was very good. The portion size was just right, not too big. I got the chopped bleu salad and the sweet potato fries as my sides. The sweet potato fries were excellent! The chopped bleu salad is a pass in my opinion. Some other people in my party got spinach salads that looked quite good. My wife got the tempura dipped shrimp, which was good but not great. For desert we shared the mudd pie. This thing was HUGE. I am not kidding when I say it had at least a pint of ice cream in it. They say it's desert for two, but we literally sliced it up and served it to six people.

Good food and friendly, efficient service that is hard to find in these parts.

This restaurant was voted as the best restaurant for 2012. We went there based on its reputation and good reviews. We weren't impressed. First, location, the restaurant has no view. It's in a lot with nothing next to it. It's at one street away from the river and it has no river view. One of the few good things about this restaurant was the waitress was very friendly. We had prime rib sandwich and almond & panko crusted pan fried chicken breast. The prime rib was excellent. The chicken breast was tender inside and crunchy outside, very good. But the dish has no sauce so it's dry and does not have much flavor. The broccoli also has no flavor. We expected great food, but our lunches were hit and miss so we were disappointed.

This place was amazing! The food was amazing, the service was great and the food was delicious. I got the coconut shrimp and my girlfriend got the chicken artichoke bacon penne. It was SOOOOOO good! We are definitely coming back again! Love this place!

Stopped in for lunch as a recommendation. Place was super busy but they found a spot for us; service was great even with the amount of people in the place. Food was decent. I would stop in again for lunch. I would say this is one of the better restaurants in the area.

First thing you notice is how clean the place is. Friendly hostess and the food was fresh and good. Server Miley was very attentive and helpful. Only drawback is a few salad bar morons who plant their fat asses in front of the bar trying to make a work of art out of a salad, and they don't move for 5 minutes. Naturally it's the old farts and the fatties.

In Idaho Falls for business and our client recommended Jakers. Glad he did. Stopped by for lunch. Nice clean place. Very extensive menu. We ordered the seafood enchildads. Cooked very nicely and came wirh rice. Enchiladas were very tasty and fresh. Nice touch. Server was courteous with lots of refils of the soda. A local place that excels in food. Next time back, I will try their steaks.

We ate at Jakers last night as we were craving seafood. Not finding much in Idaho Falls found that Jakers did serve some seafood so decided to give it a try. We ordered the Fish and Chips from the "Smart Menu". The fish and fries were excellent however we did not care for the "Asian Slaw", not enough dressing to our likes. Can't say enough good things about our server. Very congenial, bubbly personality and was right there if we needed anything. Definitely a place to return to.

This was my first time in Idaho Falls and several people had mentioned that Jaker's was the place to eat. I was not disappointed. The food was excellent (best steak I have ever had) and the staff was friendly with exceptional service.

My husband and I love stop by for lunch and order an appetizer and add the salad bar, you walk out of their stuffed. The food is good the staff is great. If you are looking to relax and have a great lunch or dinner than you want to make sure to stop here. If you love tomato soup, make sure to order it, it is the best I have ever tasted, the lobster bisque is not bad as well.

Big fan of Jaker's in all Idaho cities. Twin Falls is my favorite, Idaho Falls is well ran as well. Had some hit and miss experiences in Meridian but I understand that they have worked those bugs out. Jaker's is a good upper end restaurant that has good food and service.

They've recently added a salad bar. You can get just the salad and soup (all you can eat) for 9.99, or add it to your entree for $2. Great deal. The salad bar wasn't that extensive, but they had about 6 different kind of soup, all of which was good. I got the salmon, and it was delicious, moist and tender.

This place was decent. I mean, there aren't many non-big-chain restaurants to choose from in Idaho Falls. This seems to be one of the more popular restaurants. I've only done take-out here, and it was good. The scones are pretty bomb. Definitely get those!

Being from Texas I know steak... this was not it. I ordered the rib eye, the menu said that it was cooked island style, i was thinking well seasoned and cooked over a flame. It was a very nice cut, which accounted for the $24 price tag at an outdated roadhouse. It was cooked on a flat griddle, like Denny's or waffle house. First off that's a sin to cook a nice steak that way. Again and maybe its an Idaho thing, a complete lack of seasoning in anyway shape or form. The scones were amazing the salad was great, the waiter was attentive but sweaty. Id go back for a burger but wouldn't waste my pallet on a steak again. As for the vegetarian... It's a steakhouse... says right on the sign. Get over it and have a burger.

What a great find! Extensive menu plus large soup and salad bar. Outstanding service by Lindsey, our friendly and accommodating waitress. Many customers but no waiting this Wed. Eve. Walking distance from hotel and the Idaho Falls Greenbelt walkway.

Jaker's used to be incredibly good, but hey've been on a downhill slide for the past 3 or 4 years, and now my husband refuses to go there at all. They seemed to have sacrificed the quality of their food to save a few bucks. Hello, pre-packaged, frozen Sysco food!

Awsome, a great place for kids and teenagers. Loved my Lobster melt but I think its s seasonal special. The scones and bunny butter are to die for. Wish we had this chain in So. Cal. If you show them your hotel key they will give you a 10% discount.

We stopped here on the second to last leg of a 5700 mile road trip. We had been eating substandard road food for most of the time and needed a substantial steak dinner. The atmosphere was a little dated but comfortable and private. The lobster bisque was great, with actual chunks of lobster as opposed to puree. Jaker's does not portend to be a true Texas or New York Steakhouse. However, my rare filet was broiled to perfection, not charbroiled, but an oldfashioned broil. The baked potato was perfect as expected in Idaho. I did see a person order the creme brulee which came out in a HUGE casserole dish. I would be a regular here if I lived here.

Jaker's is one of those special places you should not pass up. The restaurant is known for having the finest available steaks (aged and cut on premise) served on a sizzling platter. Your eating in Idaho so with it comes a 1 lb. Idaho Russets which are rotated every half hour during the baking to ensure freshness. Soup, well Jaker's is famous for it's Baked Potato Soup and Clam Chowder prepared from scratch right in the kitchen. With all this you will most certainly be standing in line with the locals who have gathered in a queue. But it is worth the wait. Enjoy.

There is so much good to say about this place, and really no complaints, that I must make a list (and I only make lists when I'm very excited and don't want to get overly wordy). Here it goes: 1. Extremely diverse menu; from steaks to seafood, pasta, mexican and thai influenced dishes, salads and more. I had a spicy thai steak salad (I think it had "Dragon" in the name), and my husband had a bacon wrapped filet with mashed potato and a caesar salad. Both were mouth watering and beautifully presented. 2. The "Scones" (which are more like not to sweet light fluffy donuts with a sweet butter) are addictive. 3. The creme brulee was the best I've ever tasted (only 2 small tastes though... blasted diet). Perfect texture, delicious flavor of the creme and the caramelized top. 4. Good bar selections (that we did not try, as we were on the road) 5. Friendly, helpful, chatty staff. 6. The price of the food for the quality that you get is an amazing value. Jaker's is a small chain with a few locations around Idaho and expanding into Nevada. We are hoping they end up in expanding to the San Francisco/South Bay area because this place is fantastic.

Great bar, good food. I had an excellent sirloin steak. This restaurant was recommended by the hotel staff and it would be hard to beat.

I think Jakers has excellent meals and menu choices. Some have said it's expensive but I disagree, I would say it's prices are reasonable to any other steak house. The portion sizes are quite large (my girlfriend and I can usually split 1 meal and still have leftovers). Some of my favorites would be the lobster bisque soup, stuffed avocados, calimari, creme brule and of course their steaks. Oh wait, I can't leave out the chicken a la Jakers! Give this place a try I'm sure you'll love it.

The one vegetarian option on the menu was deep fried. *sigh* I ordered a chicken avocado tomato sammich without the chicken, and I didn't have to elaborate for the waitress to get it. It was okay...too much mayo for me (clearly I'm not from the Midwest), but the bread was perfectly toasted with butter. I really don't want to think about how many calories were in it. Whatever those rolls were was awfully good and I can easily see them being horribly addictive. My colleague described them as donuts without glaze, which seems pretty close but they were more buttery than that. Get some more options and you'll likely double your rating!
